Hey everyone,

We have a few updates today on the short adventure stretch goals.

Adventure Anthology 1 Cover

First up, we're very excited to be able to present the cover for Adventure Anthology 1, which contains the adventures Curse of the Maggot God, The Jeweler's Sanctum, The Sunbathers, and The Comet That Time Forgot. We've enlisted OSE favourite Frank Scacalossi to do the covers for this and Adventure Anthology 2, and we're delighted with the first piece. This depicts the interior of the fire giant Lord Uther's volcano fortress. (And in Frank's typical style, contains a fun easter-egg reference to a classic gaming product.) 

The Comet That Time Forgot

We're excited to announce that the sixth short adventure stretch goal—The Comet That Time Forgot by D. M. Wilson and Sarah Brunt—has been sent out to backers! You will have received an email with a download link, but you can also download the PDF directly from BackerKit.

The Sunbathers Illustrated

The Adventure Anthology 1 PDF now also includes the final illustrations for The Sunbathers, with art by the fantastic Chris Malec. Here's a little sample of that.

Short Adventures Timeline

Here's where we stand with the short adventure stretch goals overall:

•  Curse of the Maggot God: Writing, editing, layout, and illustration complete.
•  The Jeweler's Sanctum: Writing, editing, layout, and illustration complete.
•  The Sunbathers: Writing, editing, layout, and illustration complete.
•  The Comet That Time Forgot: Writing, editing, and layout complete. Illustration commencing soon.
•  Barrow of the Bone Blaggards: Writing, editing, layout, and illustration complete.
•  The Ravener's Ghat: Writing, editing, and layout complete. Illustration by Sajan Rai in progress.
•  Cathedral of the Crimson Death: Writing and editing complete. Play testing commencing soon.
•  Shrine of the Oozing Serpent: Writing and editing complete. Play testing commencing soon.

So overall, 6 of the adventures are finished or very nearly finished. We anticipate play testing, final editing, layout, and illustration of the last 2 adventures taking around 3-4 months. We'll then send out the final PDFs of Adventure Anthologies 1 and 2!

Adventure Anthology Print Editions

As noted in the Kickstarter campaign description, all backers will receive the final PDFs of the two Adventure Anthologies, containing the 8 short adventures that were unlocked as stretch goals. Once complete, the Anthology PDFs will also be available on general sale to non-backers.

We've additionally decided to publish the two Adventure Anthologies in print, as a pair of hardcover books matching the size and specs of the other OSE books. We don't have a firm publication date as yet, but it should be some time this year.

Fulfillment Complete (FINALLY!)

GamesQuest has informed us that all of the EU orders that were delayed have been shipped out. I think the time has come that we can finally say fulfillment is complete! Yaay! If you have not received your pledge or need any assistance, please reach out to us at [email protected].

EU / UK Fulfilment Update

We'd like to apologise again for the unreasonable delays to fulfilment in the EU and UK. Unfortunately a lot of issues have occurred that were totally outside of our control, but it looks like the last few dozen orders will be resolved very soon. The latest status is as follows:

• The remaining 9 UK orders have been shipped out. We have been in communication with these backers and apologize for the delay! 
• The stock that was missing in the EU warehouse arrived on March 7th. We've been regularly emailing GamesQuest instructing them to ship out the remaining 44 orders, those orders should ship soon. We will also be in touch with these 44 backers.

Box Sets + Carcass Crawler 3 Street Date

Just a note for anyone who has friends clamouring after the Old-School Essentials box sets / Carcass Crawler 3: they'll be available on general sale from our website as soon as the last Kickstarter packages have been sent out. They'll also be available for other retailers to order from us, so should be widely available in gaming stores shortly.

The exact date depends on when GamesQuest ship out the last EU orders, of course, but it should be really soon now.

Remaining Orders Delay, Fulfilling soon

Hello everyone!

A quick update to say that we are SO close to finalizing fulfillment for this project. 

A big THANK YOU to the EU and UK backers for their patience with the delays in fulfillment in that region. There were about 50 orders in the EU and 9 orders in the UK that had a stock issue that we were not aware of until fulfillment there started. We have taken steps to correct this issue and anticipate those remaining orders to be sent out in the next week or so.  If you are in this group and need assistance please do not hesitate to reach out to us at [email protected] and we can help to get you the latest information on your pledge. 

We have seen some uncertainty about the future of OSE due to the OGL and other rumors. Let us put these rumors to bed. We have no plans to end support for OSE. Our roadmap for this, and many years to come, includes making amazing content for the game we all love.

Look for another update soon once fulfillment is finalized for an announcement on the retail release of the box sets.

The Ravener's Ghat, The Jeweler's Sanctum Fully Illustrated

Hey everyone,

We'll have an update coming soon around the final stages of fulfilment in the EU and UK, but first we wanted to just quickly let you know about progress with the short adventure stretch goals.

The Ravener's Ghat

First up, we've just sent out an update to the Adventure Anthology 2 PDF, now including a new adventure: The Ravener's Ghat by Brian Yaksha.

This is a pretty special adventure (and one that pushes the limits of what's considered a "short adventure"!) set in an Indian-inspired mythos. Here's the intro text, to give you some flavour:

"Overlooking a flooded valley sits a temple known as the Ravener's Ghat. For millennia, a learned rakshasa—the Ravener—reigned here as the herald of monsoons, a divine servant of the Monsoon God, attended by pilgrims and pujari.

Fickle dynastic successions on earth and in heaven saw all rakshasas demonized and reduced to man-eaters. The Ravener too fell into cruelty, keeping offerings made to the Monsoon God to slake his own avaricious hunger for exaltation. Jealous of the sun’s golden warmth, he shrouded the land in endless monsoon. This displeased the Divine, and by treasonous deeds did the pujari imprison their master in his own temple, severing his le! hand and shackling him in the waters of his floods.

The pujari swore to remain in the temple forever as wardens of their former master’s prison. For centuries, the place lay beneath a magical veil, hiding it from the eyes of mortal folk. Recently, the slow decay of time finally eroded the veil, revealing the Ravener’s Ghat once more—now a ruin, overrun by nature and blighted by the Ravener’s accursed presence. Treasure hunters greedily eye the ruin, dreaming of riches, and lesser rakshasas gather, seeking to restore the Ravener to his covetous throne."

And here's a fantastic exterior view of the temple, which appears alongside the normal top-down dungeon map. The maps are done by Glynn Seal, as usual, and we're in discussions with Sajan Rai to do the art for the adventure. We'll send out an update of the PDF again once the art is in place.

The Jeweler's Sanctum

We've also just sent out an update to the Adventure Anthology 1 PDF, now including the final illustrations for The Jeweler's Sanctum, with art by OSE veteran Mark Lyons. Here's a little sample of that.

Hey everyone,

A quick update today on the status with fulfillment and the short adventure stretch goals.

EU and UK Fulfilment

The EU orders will start to go out to backers this week. The UK should not be far along behind that, but we will update you when we are given a start date! Thank you again so much for your patience. 

Barrow of the Bone Blaggards

We're excited to announce that the fourth short adventure stretch goal—Barrow of the Bone Blaggards by Chance Dudinack—has been sent out to backers! You will have received an email with a download link, but you can also download the PDF directly from BackerKit.

Incidentally, illustration of two of the previously released adventures is in progress. The Sunbathers is being illustrated by Chris Malec and The Jeweler's Sanctum by Mark Lyons. We'll send out an updated PDF with those adventures once the art is complete.
